Working hours: 4 hours per week Interview Date: To be confirmed The Salvation Army Corps in Ely operates a busy church and creche, which works to meet the needs of the local community and to raise funds for the work of The Salvation Army in the local area. We are looking to appoint a cleaner to join our team, who will oversee the safe and effective cleaning standards of the corps which will help to support the corps in the mission of The Salvation Army. Key Responsibilities: Ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness & hygiene Undertake cleaning duties according to the cleaning schedule to the required quality standards, wear protective clothing and follow safe working practices to ensure health & safety and environmental health & hygiene standards are maintained To store cleaning materials in accordance with safety standards & be a key holder to the building, along with others, with responsibility for the security of the building, which may include opening up in the mornings and/or locking up in the evenings. Move furniture and equipment as required to fulfil cleaning requirements. To treat colleagues and visitors in a sympathetic, helpful and supportive manner, and fulfil your duties in alignment with all relevant Salvation Army and statutory policies and procedures including health and safety, data protection, safeguarding, equality and diversity. The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate: Previous experience in a cleaning environment is desired Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey information to, and work effectively with colleagues Knowledge of relevant health & safety requirements and procedures including COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) requirements An ability to work on their own initiative and in a team A commitment to the values, aims and ethos of The Salvation Army In order to complete your application please download and read the job profile and any other attachments.
