Business Development Manager – Skyports Drone Services (SDS) – USA Expansion
Location: Miami, FL/New York
Reports to: Global Head of Commercial (London, UK)
About the Role:
Skyports Drone Services (SDS) is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Business Development Manager to lead our expansion efforts in the USA. Based in Miami, you will play a pivotal role in driving SDS’s growth in this exciting new market. As the primary representative of SDS in the region, you will focus on securing and executing existing opportunities, generating new business leads, and building long-term relationships with key stakeholders across industries such as medical deliveries, powerline inspections, and surveillance solutions.
You will collaborate closely with the SDS senior leadership team and other regional teams to deliver ambitious projects and ensure operational excellence in this rapidly evolving industry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify and secure commercial opportunities across drone delivery, infrastructure monitoring, and other high-value sectors such as medical logistics and asset inspections.
* Develop and grow SDS’s presence in the USA by fostering relationships with key stakeholders, including government entities, regulators, and industry partners.
* Create tailored proposals and bids for top-tier clients, ensuring they align with customer needs and SDS’s capabilities.
* Conduct market analysis to identify new growth opportunities, refine strategies, and stay ahead of industry trends.
* Manage and nurture high-profile accounts, delivering exceptional service and maintaining strong, long-term relationships.
* Collaborate with the London-based leadership team to ensure alignment of business development efforts with SDS’s regulatory, operational, and technological standards.

* Speed and efficiency in establishing drone operations in the USA.
* Scalability and expansion of operations into new clients and sectors.
* Ability to secure and grow long-term, high-value commercial relationships.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Proven experience in expanding a company’s presence in new markets, particularly in the USA (preferred).
* A strong track record of success in high-growth companies.
* Experience in highly regulated industries, particularly in B2B sales and long sales cycles.
* Familiarity with the drone industry or a solid understanding of the aviation and/or technology sectors.
* The ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and embrace the challenges of working in a nascent industry.
