If so, Randstad Education is looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of History to join a well-regarded secondary school in Romford. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated history teacher to step into a leadership role and make a lasting impact on students and staff alike.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the History department, delivering high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages
2. Develop a stimulating, challenging, and inclusive History curriculum
3. Track student progress and use data effectively to enhance student achievement
4. Support, mentor, and lead a team of History teachers and department staff
5. Promote a love for History across the school through innovative teaching practices
6. Ensure the department meets national curriculum standards and exam board requirements
7. Collaborate with senior leadership on school-wide initiatives and strategies
The Ideal Candidate Will:
8. Hold QTS and have significant experience in teaching History
9. Be a passionate leader with a proven ability to inspire both students and colleagues
10. Have experience in managing or supporting a department, with a track record of success
11. Be committed to developing a learning environment where all students can thrive
12. Be data-driven, with the ability to analyse and act on student progress data
13. Demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills
