Job Description
We are currently seeking an Occupational Hygienist to provide support for a pharmaceutical client in Northumberland.
Scope of Work:
* Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including safety, health, and environment (SHE), manufacturing operations, engineering, occupational health, and HR, to identify, assess, and evaluate solutions for controlling workplace health hazards and managing associated risk to health.
* Conducting measurements for chemical agents, noise, vibration, thermal environment, and non-ionising radiation, and interpreting results in relation to established criteria.
* Planning and organising surveys and developing sampling strategies in accordance with established guidance and protocols.
* Identifying reasonably practicable control measures for non-complex situations.
* Using qualitative and quantitative assessment methods to assess exposures.
* Evaluating reports and communicating key findings to stakeholders.
* Determining risk and identifying the need for action to prevent or reduce exposures.
* Advising on containment solution options to prevent exposure.
* Providing guidance on various methods for exposure control.
* Recommending appropriate personal protective equipment selection and use.
Key Requirements:
* OCCUPATIONAL HYGIENIST QUALIFICATION OR EQUIVALENT REQUIRED.
* Proven experience within the pharmaceutical industry or similar field.
* CMIOSH or BOSH desirable but not essential.
* Experience in conducting hygiene assessments.
* Strong understanding of workplace health hazards and control measures.
This role is classified as inside IR35, working on a contract basis, site-based, and expected to last 6 months. Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum depending on experience.
