We are seeking an experienced Capability and Succession Specialist to join our People and Culture function. This role is crucial in driving our talent development strategy and ensuring organisational resilience through effective succession planning at the RSC. You will work closely with people managers and People & Culture Business Partners to develop and implement comprehensive capability development and succession planning initiatives that align with our strategic objectives. Although this role is contractually based at our Cambridge office, you will be able to work from home within the UK, with the expectation that you will attend the office as needed for your role. In this role it is expected that you will attend the office once per week, however we are open to flexibility dependant on the individual and their requirements. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement comprehensive capability development programs aligned with organizational needs and strategic objectives Lead the development and implementation of succession strategies, including identification of key roles and high-potential talent Create and maintain career pathways and frameworks to support talent progression Implement and oversee talent assessment tools, providing expert guidance to managers and stakeholders Partner with People and Culture specialists to integrate succession plans with broader talent management strategies Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of capability development and succession planning initiatives Provide specialist advice and training to colleagues and managers on career development and succession planning Qualifications and Skills: Proven experience in capability development and succession planning Strong track record in designing career pathways and talent progression frameworks Expertise in implementing talent assessment tools and frameworks Excellent stakeholder management skills, with ability to work effectively with senior leaders Strong analytical and reporting skills for evaluating organizational capability Outstanding communication and facilitation abilities Knowledge of workforce planning and talent development strategies Robust project management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities The full job description is available to download here.
