About The Role To help us achieve our ambitions we are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, team players to join our public health team. This is an opportunity for someone starting their career in Public Health. Working across the public health team we you will build your knowledge in public health and assist in the development and implementation of agreed public health programmes linked to identified local health priorities. You will support the development of key strategies and plans and ensure that commissioned programmes improve resident outcomes and help tackle health inequalities. Collaborative working is integral to delivering for our residents and you will have the opportunity to work with a range of partners and stakeholders including across the local authority, the voluntary and community sector, within the new NHS Integrated Care Board (ICB) structure (at regional, ‘place’, and neighbourhood levels), and other relevant partners, such as housing associations and businesses. Please note : Unfortunately those who already have qualifications at BSc or above are not eligible for these trainee opportunities. Level 4 - This post is an apprentice position working towards a Level 4 Improvement Practitioner qualification (2 years duration). It requires on the job training, off the job training and academic study. After successful completion of the Level 4 apprenticeship, we will assess progress and if the candidate is in a position to progress to a Level 6 Integrated Public Health qualification, we anticipate that this will require a further 3 years of training and academic study. Level 6 – This post will commence an apprenticeship at Level 6 which will include on the job training and academic study at BSc. Level. Have strong verbal and written communication skills. Your adaptability and organisational skills will enable you to manage competing priorities, and you will remain flexible and adaptable working within the team. You will have formal qualifications - 5 GCSEs at A-C/4-9 level including ICT, English and Maths (or equivalent). 3 A Levels or equivalent for higher grade apprentices. You must be able to demonstrate your passion and commitment to ongoing professional development and your ability to deliver against the Public Health Skills and Knowledge Framework.
