Summary: Part-time Kushti Bok Coordinator role to ensure effective operation of the charity, employer, and service delivery organization, with a focus on Gypsy Roma Traveller communities in Dorset and Bournemouth Christchurch Poole.
The Kushti Bok Advocacy Project is a 5-year initiative that started in February 2024, building on a successful pilot. The project provides information, advice, and support to Gypsy Roma and Traveller communities in Dorset and Bournemouth Christchurch Poole, both those living on sites and those living in the wider community. The project is led by Citizens Advice Central Dorset, working with two key delivery partners, Citizens Advice Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole, and Kushti Bok, a Dorset-based charity.
This role is crucial in ensuring the effective delivery of Kushti Bok's outputs and outcomes under the TNLCF advocacy project. The successful candidate will develop and maintain operational systems to ensure the charity runs effectively as a service delivery organization. They will also ensure the effective delivery of Kushti Bok's outputs and outcomes, seek funding for and/or manage other projects, and liaise and work effectively with members, partners, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain operational systems to ensure the charity runs effectively as a service delivery organization.
* Ensure the effective delivery of Kushti Bok's outputs and outcomes under the TNLCF advocacy project.
* Seek funding for and/or manage other projects.
* Liaise and work effectively with members, partners, and other stakeholders.
* Encourage and support volunteer involvement.
Operational Responsibilities:
* Implement systems to deliver the project, such as referral processes.
* Ensure Kushti Bok meets all targets and milestones as set out in the Partnership Agreement with CACD.
* Contribute to the support of the advocacy workers.
* Liaise with partners to deliver the project.
* Attend Steering Group meetings.
* Assist with the promotion of the project to GRT communities and collection of feedback on the project.
* Contribute to arranging and delivering training and awareness raising events.
Other Responsibilities:
* Oversee effective management of other aspects of Kushti Bok's work.
* Carry out general administration tasks as required.
* Supervise finance officer.
Person Specification:
* Understanding of the culture and needs of the Gypsy Roma Traveller communities.
* Previous experience of office management and coordination.
* Good communications skills, oral and written.
* Good numeracy skills and experience of financial reporting.
* Ability to set up systems to collect data, monitor progress, and produce reports.
* Ability to monitor and maintain own standards and willingness to attend relevant training.
* Flexible approach and willingness to work as part of a team.
* Experience of working with volunteers.
