Reporting to the Head of Service Operations you will be responsible for overseeing all internal operational activities in the UK and Ireland, specifically Workshops, Warehousing, Stores and Facilities. Your primary goal will be to implement business change, drive production, improve quality and introduce cost efficiencies to ensure UCC Coffee meets its customer and business requirements.
5 direct reports. Total team of circa 100.
The Role:
Review operational productivity processes with the aim to continuously improve thus ensuring that company objectives for quality, cost, efficiency, responsiveness and growth are met
Development and maintenance of building and associated facilities to ensure adequate working environment for UCC operations
Contractor Management for all facilities related services
General administration covering recruitment, expenses, credit cards, disciplinary procedures, holidays and sickness. Also raising of Purchase Orders as required, receipting PO’s and approval of invoices
Liaise and meet with third party companies, landlords etc. as required
Provide presentation outputs outlining the team’s performance, stats and any challenges or issues.
Some travel will be required within the UK and abroad with occasional overnight stays
Manage risk and the compliance including with company policies in relation to H&S, environmental and quality matters in the above business areas. Seek support from the H&S team where necessary and support them with records and evidence for audit purposes.
Support colleagues in UCCE with Sustainability data and projects as required
Accountability for inventory accuracy, workshop production, waste management and supplier invoices
Monitor team performance closely through regular performance management, coaching and developing across all areas of the operation and taking ownership of the annual appraisal process (PRPR)
Ensure that all reporting line carry out effective performance management
Liaise with the training team to ensure all training requirements are adhered to and that all inhouse training is properly documented
Ensure that all UK sites and Ireland are compliant with all legal requirements/regulations and that they are well maintained and safe places to work

The Person:
Experienced manager with a good understanding of technical, logistics and facilities
Able to demonstrate effective people management to improve operational efficiency and ensure productivity targets are met
Strong leadership skills and attention to detail with the ability to motivate a target driven team
Ability to interpret and disseminate company objectives
An effective communicator and able to build internal relationships at all levels
Excellent admin and IT skills-Microsoft Office
IOSH Qualification (Managing Safely)
NEBOSH General Cert (Desirable)
Experience of Lean/Six Sigma would be advantageous
