Main Responsibility
As a Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in developing the team to deliver the needs of the service. You will:
* Ensure that service users in need of care and support are safeguarded and their wellbeing is promoted effectively, in line with national legislation and policy.
* Work in partnership with key agencies, ensuring collaboration and information sharing for the benefit of the service user and significant others.
* Manage and supervise Social Workers, Assistant Social Workers, community support workers and Newly Qualified Social Workers through their ASYE, ensuring managed casework is allocated and monitored across the team's area of responsibility.
* Manage and ensure that all staff time is used efficiently and effectively delivering the most benefit to service users within available resources.
* Assist the team managers in building a strong and cohesive team.
* There will also be a particular emphasis on the identification and management of risks by individuals and to others, enabling service users to live independently in the community with the appropriate level of support.
* Ensure assessments, care planning and case work reviews are conducted in line with agreed national standards and performance targets are met.
* Deputise for the Team Manager and provide operational management support and supervision to front line staff.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Ideally, you'll have experience in the operational delivery of a mental health service. Applications will only be considered from those who hold a social work qualification and are registered with Social Work England.
For this role, the candidate is required to have a full UK driving licence, along with access to a vehicle. Evidence of the driving licence and vehicle insurance with business insurance will be required from the candidate should they be offered this position. Without this documentation the candidate will not be appointable.
