An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated, and forward-thinking pharmacy technician to join our pharmacy clinical trials management team. The postholder will provide leadership in maintaining and developing a quality clinical trial service for the pharmacy department. This will be in accordance with current UK and EU legislation, NHS frameworks, and Trust policy through all pharmacy aspects of the clinical trial process across a range of therapeutic areas.
The postholder will work with pharmacy staff, clinicians, researchers, the Trust R&D directorate, and sponsors of clinical research both internal and external to the Trust.
Applicants must have membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council, be ICH GCP accredited, and possess relevant supporting qualifications. Extensive experience within a hospital pharmacy environment including recent experience in clinical trials delivery is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage, lead and develop a quality clinical trial service for the pharmacy department, co-ordinating services across different sections of the pharmacy.
* Plan and organise pharmacy clinical trial activities in accordance with current UK and EU legislation, NHS frameworks, and Trust policy through all pharmacy aspects of the clinical trial process across all therapeutic areas.
* Design and implement clinical trial training programmes for all grades of pharmacy staff, and assess staff competence.
* Negotiate and agree the provision of pharmacy services and appropriate remuneration for clinical trials.
* Risk assess clinical trial supplies, packaging, and labelling to safeguard patients.
* Provide expert knowledge to Investigators (consultant medical staff) and sponsors of clinical research both internal and external to the Trust.
