Quartzelec Limited are looking for a Manual Machinist Apprentice to complete a Level 3 Machining Technician apprenticeship and join their team.
Role & Responsibilities:
* Operate lathes, milling machines and boring machines
* Machining and manufacturing of rotating equipment parts
* Complex turning and welding of pump bearings and shafts
* Undertake works to a high standard on a first-time fix basis where possible
* Ensure exceptional levels of internal customer care
* Work proactively as well as part of a team
* Attend lectures, practical workshops, and visits as per training provider learning plan
In addition to the above responsibilities, you will also be taught general machining skills.

* Excellent attention to detail and precision in work
* To be a team player and have the ability to offer effective solutions to problems as they arise
* Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills

* Flexible and cooperative attitude combined with a strong work ethic

We support the industrial, infrastructure, commercial and service sectors with a unique range of contracting and rotating machine services as well as developing and providing support products offered through the Quartzelec group of companies.
Things to Consider:
During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, full time for an initial block of study. You will return to your workplace one Friday per month. After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study. The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.

* GCSE English language C or 4 or above
* GCSE Maths C or 4 or above
Applicants are also required to successfully complete a series of assessments at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre, as well as an employer recruitment and selection process to secure a place on an apprenticeship programme.
