We are looking for a motivated engineer to join a market leading manufacturing company. Reporting directly to the maintenance manager, you will be a key member in ensuring the production facility is kept running. You will be involved in all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance within their operation. With progressive training and development, this company is always looking to enhance its employees and their skill sets while additionally being supported by a welcoming team of engineers. The position will appeal to a strong engineer looking for their next challenging role within a secure and stable company.
Role Description
1. Ensuring planned and reactive maintenance is carried out safely and correctly.
2. Identify MIP initiatives to supervisor.
3. Identifying and implementing improvements.
4. Daily checks of workload at the start of each shift and ensure they are completed as required, signing off on all jobs.
5. Complete all tasks in an efficient and effective manner.
6. Assist through performance the achievement of area goals.
7. Liaison with other departments to ensure safe and efficient running of the plant.
8. Working with saws, edge banders, bearings, gearboxes, belts, chains, cutters.
9. General fitting.
Skills and Qualifications
1. Minimum NVQ LV3 Mechanical discipline.
2. Completed a four-year recognised apprenticeship (Essential).
3. Competency in hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication, vibration analysis and alignment.
4. Fault Finding.
5. Fabrication (Desirable).
6. Experience within sawmills/wood products.
7. Welding.
8. Background: Manufacturing.
