Role Specification Assist the Head Pastry Chef in daily operations, ensuring smooth and efficient production. Collaborate on menu development, introducing new and exciting dessert creations. Oversee the preparation and presentation of all pastry and dessert items, maintaining high-quality standards. Train, mentor, and supervise junior pastry staff, fostering a positive and educational work environment.Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are met, adhering to health regulations. Manage stock levels and inventory for the pastry section, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality from our suppliers. Monitor performance and ensure timely production during service hours. Contribute to special events, banquets, and seasonal offerings as needed. Personal Specification Essentials To have a passion for creating bespoke and delectable desserts and pastries. Proficiency in pastry techniques. A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating innovative and visually appealing desserts. Previous experience in a similar role at a high-end restaurant/ hotel. Committed to being part of a driven team that is aiming to achieve quality and high standards in the kitchen. In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, pastry ingredients, and modern pastry trends. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment requiring long hours and the ability to stand for extended periods. Desirables Experience with large volume covers. Food Safety Training. To be keen to share your knowledge and learn new skills. Culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred. Shift Patterns 45 hours per week 5 days out of 7 per week – this includes weekends, holidays, and evenings.
