JOB DESCRIPTION About the role We have an exciting opportunity for a Complex Repairs Manager to join our team in Chesterfield on a full time, permanent basis. You will act as the subject matter expert for major repairs including disrepairs, NHBC claims, damp, mould and condensation issues, Regulatory contact actions and queries, HHSRS monitoring, fire damage and insurance works in the specific region of operation. Reporting into the Regional Head of Service you will provide a wide range of technical building and construction expertise to regional Guinness Property teams and subcontractors, enabling effective resolution of major repairs, claims, regulatory and legal issues. You will carry out surveys and assessments to identify defects and effective solutions. What we're looking for We're a customer-focussed organisation so we know that how we do things is just as important as what we do. You'll ideally be an experienced Complex Repairs Manager with great customer service skills. In depth knowledge and understanding of social housing is highly desirable. You will also be able to demonstrate the below essential experience: Excellent technical knowledge of building construction, repair techniques, related legislation, building regulations and best practice. Ability to produce detailed surveys, specifications, and cost estimates for large and complex works. Excellent planning and organisational skills with a successful track record of delivering complex services in similar circumstances. Acted as an expert witness at enquiries, tribunals, hearings and/or similar proceedings. Demonstrates a personal commitment to continuous professional development and service improvement. Proven experience of providing excellent customer services. Proven ability to provide accurate and clear, communications in writing, face to face or by telephone, and reports for distribution at a senior level. Good IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, housing and property management systems and an understanding of new and emerging technologies related to housing. Extensive experience of service delivery, financial monitoring, and control. Demonstrates the Guinness Behaviours. Essential Qualifications: HNC in Surveying or Construction & Built Environment or equivalent) or higher. Full UK Driving Licence Desirable: NEBOSH Certification in Construction. Certified Surveyor of Timber & Dampness in Buildings (CSTDB) and Certified Surveyor of Dampness in Buildings (CSDB). Level 4 Certificate in Housing.
