Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Specialty Anaesthetist working across the trust at Wansbeck General Hospital, North Tyneside General Hospital, Hexham General Hospital, and The Northumbria Hospital on a full-time basis.
The candidate should have at least four years of experience, including two years in UK anaesthesia. They will need to have passed the appropriate obstetric competencies as detailed by the RCoA, as the successful candidate will be required to cover the labour ward when on call.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work a resident 8-person full shift system alongside the other trainees in the department. They will be encouraged to develop their special interest to complement the other members of the department and will participate in the provision of Anaesthetic services at all the main hospital sites.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* MBBS or equivalent eligible for full/limited GMC registration.
* BSc/BA Hons, Distinctions, Prizes at Undergrad or Postgrad Level. Primary FRCA or Equivalent.
Experience
* Minimum of 2 years experience at Foundation level or equivalent.
* Minimum of 2 years previous experience in UK anaesthesia at ACCS or CT level.
* Previous experience in Obstetric Anaesthetics with documented completion of all appropriate workplace assessments.
* Participation in on-call rotas including labour ward and intensive care unit cover.
Clinical Care
* Peripheral and central access, arterial cannulation.
* Spinal & epidural anaesthesia.
* BLS & PLS.
