Clinical Trials Assistant
SALARY: Grade 4 equivalent
HOURS: 35 hours per week

Overall Purpose of the Job:
Eurolens Research is a clinical research unit, conducting clinical trials for the contact lens industry. This role would provide temporary cover for an administrative position during the recruitment of two replacement employees and anticipated sick leave for another. The role requires that specific training courses be undertaken before working on clinical projects.
Key Duties:
1. Recruitment of study participants and appointment scheduling.
2. Ensuring that participants receive sufficient information about the project and have an opportunity to ask questions.
3. Checking the eligibility of potential participants against study requirements.
4. Co-ordination of study participant appointments and clinician diaries.
5. Working with other team members to help develop recruitment strategies.
6. Taking phone calls and responding to emails from participants involved in clinical studies.
7. General administration such as the preparation, filing, and organisation of clinical records.
8. Assisting with the preparation of progress reports for industrial sponsor companies.
9. Maintaining and updating digital and paper filing systems.
10. Attending meetings and providing minutes.
11. Ordering, receipt, and managing of study supplies.
12. Liaising with Project Officer, Operations Manager, and Senior Research Administrator.
13. Assistance with clinical study data management and quality control.
14. Providing administrative support for clinicians.

Person Specification: (Essential)
1. Excellent communication skills and confident telephone manner.
2. Relevant administrative experience.
3. Good organisational skills.
4. Educated to GCSE standard (or equivalent) in English Language.
5. Familiarity with MS Office packages, particularly Word and Excel.
6. Familiarity with electronic mail.
7. Ability to work with a variety of different personalities.
