The Rotherham Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Service is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner with an interest or willingness to learn more about working in a specialist service.
We are looking to recruit a practitioner from a variety of backgrounds and would consider registered professionals such as Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMNs), Occupational Therapists (OTs) and/or Social Workers (SWs).
Rotherham Perinatal Team provides a Monday - Friday 9-5 service to service users residing in the borough of Rotherham.

Our Specialist Perinatal Mental Health team supports new mums and mums-to-be experiencing moderate to severe mental health illness during the perinatal period. Main duties of the job
This is an exciting time to join the team as we continue to grow and develop to deliver a high-quality mental health response to women in the perinatal period and their partners. This post will work as part of an established integrated multi-disciplinary Specialist Perinatal Mental Health team which promotes a dynamic and innovative way of working, triaging and responding to referrals, conducting face-to-face assessments and therapeutic interventions working closely with other team members to provide a holistic and bespoke approach to every family on our caseload. This specific role will oversee our Keeping Well Pathway which plays a key role within our service for women who are at risk of developing Postpartum Psychosis within the perinatal period. Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
1. Professional qualification (degree or equivalent)
2. Evidence of relevant core profession i.e. RMN
3. Evidence of continued professional development demonstrated by specialist knowledge and experience
4. Formal therapies qualification i.e. CBT or similar
Experience Essential
1. Experience of working in a mental health setting, including working with patients experiencing perinatal mental health issues
2. Experience of delivering brief therapeutic interventions
3. To have appropriate demonstrable experience - which should include community and working within a mental health setting
4. Experience in managing a busy caseload/workload
5. To be able to carry out moderate to intense physical effort throughout the working day and carry out concurrent activities
