About the role:
As a Classroom Support Worker, you will assist the class teacher in delivering high-quality lessons while offering tailored support to individual pupils or small groups. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve helping students with their classwork, promoting positive behaviour, and ensuring that all children feel included and supported throughout their school day.
Classroom Support Worker Responsibilities:
* Support students across a range of subjects and activities within the classroom.
* Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils who require extra help.
* Assist with lesson preparation and the organisation of resources.
* Promote inclusive learning and student engagement.
* Encourage and motivate students to participate actively in class.
* Support with behaviour management and conflict resolution when needed.
* Monitor pupil progress and communicate feedback to teaching staff.
* Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to deliver effective strategies.
* Help students with daily routines, including transitions between lessons.
* Uphold a safe, nurturing, and positive classroom environment for all pupils.
Requirements for a Classroom Support Worker:
* A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field
* Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance are preferred.
* Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational or care setting as a Classroom Support Worker.
* A patient, adaptable, and supportive attitude.
* Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with both staff and students.
* Proactive, with a desire to contribute to the school community.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
