From Arla’s offices in Leeds, you will be part of the Arla Global Tax team which consists of 14 specialists in 5 countries, reporting to the global Head of Tax. You will be an important part of making things happen within the Arla Foods organisation and in building the future capabilities of the tax department. What will the role look like?
You will handle various tax-related tasks in a professional yet informal setting. Success means becoming a trusted business partner, using your talent for structured process management to provide guidance that ensures sound decisions, high compliance, and stakeholder support.
Your main responsibilities will include:
* Corporate tax compliance – return preparation and group administration including thin cap and CIR; group reporting and UK accounts tax disclosures
* SAO support including documentation and testing
* Tax governance including process documentation and update/maintenance of risk register, etc.
* HMRC relationship maintenance; dealing with HMRC compliance checks
* Project work as required either leading or supporting, for example, M&A and reorganisations, property transactions, legal entity simplification
* Dealing with ad-hoc business queries
* Learning new tax areas including IR35, customs duties, alcohol ingredients relief, plastic packaging tax, some VAT
* Work closely together with the other Global tax team members in the UK Leeds office.
* Liaise with other internal departments, tax authorities and external tax advisors – providing high-quality tax advice to the organisation.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful in This Role:
You are ready to put your knowledge of UK tax matters into practice in a large global and dynamic organisation. You enjoy working in a complex stakeholder environment, deploying your ability to manage assignments in a fast-paced environment.
Moreover, you:
* Are CIOT qualified with 2/3 years post qualification experience
* Are possibly looking for a first move into industry/an in-house position.
* Have a UK Corporate tax background but looking to broaden tax knowledge in other areas (willingness to learn and diversify)
* Enjoy using digital tools/systems and are willing to learn more (Microsoft literacy); experience with Alphatax and SAP is a plus.
* Work effectively and structured to meet agreed deadlines in a work environment with a wide variety of tasks.
