Research Assistant Grade H ( 38,394 - 43,188 p.a. pro rata) This is a fixed-term contract of up to 36 months About the Role This is an exciting opportunity to work as a research assistant within the School of Arts and Humanities. The purpose of the role will be: Working with the grantholder, researching the lives, words and experiences of benefit fraudsters. This research will involve archival research, the conduct of oral histories, online research (including court cases and newspapers), and consideration of materials published by pressure and advocate groups. Physical travel to archives will be required; Analysing the data collected, including the construction of life stories, linguistic analysis and coding or oral histories. The data will be both historical and current, and you must have experience of the historical dimensions of the British welfare system; Public engagement activities arising from the research above, including policy recommendations, public talks, newspaper articles and media activity; Contributing to the writing of the project book; Writing, on your own and with the grantholder, articles that emanate from the research For more details, please take a look at the role profile.
