1-1 Teaching Assistant Full time (permanent) Christchurch Start date - January 2025 or as soon as possible The School and Role An Alternative Provision school based in Christchurch are currently seeking 1-1 Teaching Assistants to start in January 2025. The school caters for primary and secondary pupils aged 6 - 16 years with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, ASD, and various other needs including trauma, school phobia Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD). All learners have an Educational, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Responsibilities: Provide 1-1 support to a student with SEMH and ASD needs, both in the classroom and outside of the classroom Develop and implement personalised learning plans, adapting instruction to meet the student's unique needs Assist the teacher in delivering lessons, including preparing materials and resources Support the student's social, emotional, and behavioral development through positive behavioral interventions and strategies Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and other professionals involved in the student's care Maintain accurate records of student progress and observations Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities Requirements The desired Teaching Assistant will have; - Experience of working with primary and/or secondary school aged children - Experience of working with pupils with SEND/SEMH - A passion for the progress of pupils - An ability to work as part of a team What we offer As part of our team, you benefit from: · Excellent daily rates paid using the PAYE system.
