About the role
We are looking for a part-time Evening and Weekend Library Assistant to be based at the Royal Free Hospital Medical Library. Duties will include staffing the Library Issue Desk on a rota basis, answering enquiries, troubleshooting local technology issues, and providing administrative support for all library facilities and functions. The post holder will assist with maintaining an efficient and safe environment for all library users and help with opening and closing the library as appropriate.
Pro rata salary for this role is £18, per annum.
Manual handling is required to carry out this role. Training will be provided.
We will consider applications to work on a flexible and job share basis wherever possible. This is an on-campus role. It is not suitable for regular remote working.
This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.
About you
We are looking for candidates who have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, experience of working in a customer focused environment, excellent IT skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team. Experience of working in a library or information environment is desirable but not essential.
Working hours: Monday – Wednesday & Saturday (22 hours)
