The development of the Single Point Of Access ( SPOA) - triage & assessment team, is part of our commitment to ensure people get timely access to Mental health assessments and support.
The team has combined with the 111p2 service to provide a streamlined front door to mental health services.
The job offers great variation in roles, with the chance to work on the 111p2 line, the professional line or the professional triage line, as well support the development of the assessment team across Powys.

Main duties of the job
The main duties of the job are to support the function of completing triages and assessment for those requiring an urgent mental health response.
The Senior Practitioner will work autonomously, providing high quality complex clinical telephone triage and clinical assessment to individuals presenting with mental health illness/conditions, in mental distress or acute crisis, resulting in a safe and appropriate clinical decision.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Use a range of communication methods adaptable to the needs of individuals, families, carers, and partner organisations to review mental health telephone enquiries through assessing symptoms and health information, prioritising for urgency. Provide clinical support and act as a decision maker for team members and work to improve the quality of the telephone triage assessment, to enable the best possible care outcomes for those experiencing mental health distress, families/carers, and partner organisations.

Essential
* Professional qualification and registration:- - RMN OR - CQSW/Dip Social Work OR - Occupational Therapy OR - (BPS) Qualification in Counselling Psychology
* Wide range of experience within a service-related setting Experience of high-quality clinical triage using knowledge, skills, critical thinking, and professional judgement Sound knowledge of clinical / service issues within area of practice Knowledge and application of safeguarding policies and procedures for children and adults
Desirable
* demonstrates research and audit experience Leadership experience Knowledge and application of care coordination
