Job Title: Mechanical Fitter

The Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team and contribute to the successful installation and maintenance of water treatment plants in Kent. This is a hands-on role that involves working on-site and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of critical water infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Assembly: Install and assemble mechanical components and systems in water treatment plants, including pumps, valves, piping, filters, and related equipment.
Maintenance and Repair: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems, including troubleshooting issues, repairing damaged parts, and ensuring systems operate efficiently.
Fabrication and Welding: (If applicable) Fabricate and weld metal components, including pipework, support structures, and other mechanical parts, according to engineering specifications.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including working in confined spaces, wearing personal protective equipment, and following company safety protocols.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and material usage.
Teamwork: Collaborate with other team members, including engineers, supervisors, and other tradespeople, to ensure project success.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
Valid CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme)
Valid EUSR Card (Utilities Skills Certification Scheme)
First Aid Certification
Medium Risk Confined Space Certification with current medical
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Fitter, ideally in the water treatment or construction industry.
Proven ability to work safely and efficiently in confined spaces.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including pumps, valves, piping, and filtration equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specification
