Summary
As an R&D Process Technologist, you will identify, initiate, and deliver advantaged Processing Engineering expertise & solutions supporting Open Innovation and Value Creation across savings, yield, quality, food safety, and efficiency enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify, initiate, and deliver advantaged Processing Engineering expertise & solutions supporting Open Innovation and Value Creation across savings, yield, quality, food safety, and efficiency enhancements.
* Support in initial CAPEX scoping and commissioning.
* Support Continuous Improvement Projects requiring R&D Process Technical Support, including data analysis and trend assessment related to processes and food.
* Create a pipeline of Process Engineering-enabled Value Creation opportunities aligned with Company and Cluster strategies.
* Provide Process Engineering technical support to cross-functional teams in pursuit of Value Creation across yield, quality, food safety, efficiency enhancements, and Innovation.
* Establish strong working relationships/technical exchanges with KHC International Process Engineering Group and external partners to leverage and deploy advantaged Process Engineering solutions.
* Demonstrate Project Management best practices to deliver projects with executional excellence, including defining clear project and business objectives, conducting robust technical feasibilities, and adhering to timelines and compliance.
* Perform assigned tasks in accordance with Heinz Food Safety, Environmental, Health and Safety, and Ethical and Human Resources policies, programs, and goals.
* Initiate and lead Process Engineering-enabled Value Creation, R&D Driven ESG, and Technology Projects.
* Provide Process Engineering guidance to cross-functional stakeholders and the Value Creation R&D team.
* Network within KHC, external suppliers, and 3rd party research institutes.
* Support the selection, optimization, validation, and commissioning of new and existing processes and processing equipment.
About You
* 1-3 years of experience in a Research and Development role in the Food industry.
* Familiarity with and ability to work within manufacturing and Pilot Plant environments.
* Process improvement and development experience/expertise within Food Manufacturing/food product development.
* Productivity/Value Creation track record.
* Understanding of key Food manufacturing process steps – Ingredient Preparation, Blending, Thermal Processing & Packaging.
* Project Management experience.
* Computer skills including Excel, Word, Project Management tools, PowerPoint, and keyboard skills.
* Familiarity with business production systems including Agile, BPCS, and SAP.
* Understanding of the FSANZ Food Standards code and food labeling requirements.
* Understanding of interactions between ingredients, additives, recipes, processes, and packaging types.
* High level of competence in all elements of the product development cycle including consumer insight interpretation, ideation to concept development, technical feasibility, factory implementation, and product launch.
* Good project management, planning, and organization skills.
