Job Introduction
Interviews will take place on Friday, 28 February 2025.
We are looking for an excellent teacher who has high expectations and continuously strives for the best outcomes. We are offering an exciting opportunity to join The Hamble School during a period of rapid improvement and change. Our vision ‘We Care, We Aim High, We Learn and Achieve Together’ encapsulates the work we do every day. Our intake numbers are increasing – we currently have 1170 students and are looking to expand our staffing further.
The Science Department consists of a dedicated team of experienced staff. It is well-resourced with a number of newly refurbished specialist classrooms within the Science building. Our aim is to deliver an inspiring and challenging curriculum which includes practical lessons, real-life Science experiences, and the development of key Science skills. We work closely with ExxonMobil and University Hospital Southampton to deliver engaging talks and programmes as well as offering trips and visits to Science-related industries.
We are seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic teacher from September 2025, who has the drive and commitment to improve outcomes. This role would suit both experienced teachers and ECTs. This is an opportunity for a new or experienced teacher to join the school at a very exciting time.
In return, we can offer you:
1. a positive and optimistic working environment focused on staff well-being, student welfare, progress, and high standards of achievement and behaviour;
2. an internal Middle Leader programme and external training development opportunities (we are part of PiXL, have strong ties with local school consortia, and we support staff to complete NPQs);
3. personal career development to assist you in the fulfilment of your ambitions;
4. a well-equipped campus with excellent gym and swimming facilities run by Everyone Active which staff can take advantage of for free. Access to leisure and sports classes at heavily discounted membership rates and preferential rates for family members;
5. the opportunity to apply for discounted childcare placements with Hamble Early Years Centre which is based directly next to the school;
6. free on-site parking and good local public transport links to the school (bus/ rail).
We welcome visits to the school to see us in action and invite you to come and have an informal chat and meet the Headteacher.
To apply, please click the "Apply for this job" button below. If you currently work in a school, please ensure your first reference is from your current Headteacher.
We look forward to receiving your application.
