About our Pharmacy Service
We are looking for a Pharmacist to join us to contribute to our team in providing a high quality and respected clinical pharmacy service as a Senior Rotational Pharmacist. We have a permanent post and a fixed term post until 31st October 2025 available.
You will be based at Ipswich Hospital, spending a significant proportion of time working clinically at ward level. Your clinical practice will be centered through rotations in (but not limited to) Women's and Childs Health, Emergency Admissions, Care-of-the-Elderly, Community Services, Medication Safety and Homecare and Specialist Surgery. You will have the opportunity to expand your experience and knowledge in areas of specialty by working closely with the specialist pharmacists.
As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will be expected to fully integrate within the clinical environment, providing a patient-centred approach to medicines management/optimisation.
Weekend working and on-call required for this role.
For the fixed term post, internal applicants currently employed by ESNEFT will be offered on a secondment basis only. This will need to be discussed with your line manager.
Main duties of the job
Assisting the department in providing a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to patients within East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT).
Work closely with senior colleagues and clinical technicians to ensure the provision of an integrated and efficient clinical service.
If not already achieved, it is expected that you will undertake the postgraduate education offered by the department e.g. Postgraduate Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice (or component modules).
Further support will be offered to help facilitate progression to becoming an Independent Prescriber.
You will also receive training deemed necessary for each specialist rotation.
Work clinically at ward level; although it is an expectation that you will also support other clinical colleagues within the department as the holistic service requires.
