Job summary We are looking for an enthusiastic Consultant Radiologist colleague to join our high quality, dynamic Radiology department at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals. You will join the current team of friendly and enthusiastic Radiologists to provide an interventional and general radiology service in this busy modern hospital which provides a wide range of clinical services to the local population. Subspecialist interests in IR would be essential with appropriate support and development given. We aspire to create an outstanding, sustainable service which is able to support individual needs as well as react to local and national demands. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be contracted to the Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will be based at Doncaster Royal Infirmary (DRI), and will work with the interventional radiology team (currently four consultant radiologists). The Radiology department is a progressive, forward thinking team. We have an active capital replacement programme with deployment of two CT scanners on the DRI site and replacements of MRI and CT scanners on the Bassetlaw site in the last four years. Additional MRI and CT scanners will be installed in a purpose built community diagnostic centre at Mexborough Montague Hospital which is planned to open to the public in April 2025. There is a well-established skill mix with radiographers undertaking plain film, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine and CT reporting within agreed scopes of practice.
