You are confident in all aspects of financial management, with an excellent track record in operational and people management, together with experience of developing and implementing an Arts Council England NPO. The job Responsible for the overall strategic direction, artistic vision and operational management of Chapel Arts Studios. This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive and innovative individual who can drive the organisation forward while fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for artists and the wider community. Key Responsibilities: Artistic Direction & Programming: Identify projects and initiatives that enhance Chapel Arts Studios’ reputation for creativity and quality. Keep abreast of current trends in the arts sector and adapt programming accordingly. Develop new artistic opportunities and partnerships. Oversee Events & Exhibition Lead, ensuring engaging and diverse exhibitions and events, showcasing both established and emerging talent. Oversee Creative People Lead to develop and implement a compelling and forward-thinking artistic programme that aligns with the organisation's aims and values. Maintain a strong relationship with Arts Council Relationship Manager. Ensure that Chapel Arts delivers all the requirements of its National Portfolio Organisation status, including activities and reporting. Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a strategic plan that outlines the organisation's vision, goals and objectives Lead the team, fostering a collaborative and positive working culture Oversee the financial management of the organisation, including budgeting, fundraising, and grant applications Ensure that the organisation is operating in compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations. Prepare and deliver a quarterly board report. Operational Management: Management and development of staff and effective management of contractors Develop and maintain effective relationships with artists, partners, and stakeholders. Monitor and evaluate the performance of the organisation, identifying areas for improvement. Liaise closely with external bookkeepers to ensure there is robust management of the finances including controls, budgets and spends. Ensure the administrative function updates and maintains key policies and procedures. Community Engagement: Oversee development and implementation of strategies to increase participation and engagement with the local community, fostering a welcome and inclusive environment for all. Fundraising & Development: Oversee the development and maintenance of relationships with funders, supporters and funding opportunities from a range of sources. Explore and implement new income generation opportunities. The person Essential: Experience in a leadership or management role within the arts or cultural sector. Familiarity with working with the Arts Council England, particularly developing and writing funding submissions. A proven track record of developing and implementing successful artistic programmes. Exceptional creative vision, with the ability to generate innovative ideas and initiatives. Strong understanding of contemporary art practices and trends. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Proven ability to manage budgets and financial resources effectively. Strong understanding of the arts funding landscape. Excellent organisational and time management skills. A passion for the arts and a commitment to supporting artists and the community. Experience in fundraising and grant writing. Desirable: Local knowledge of the Andover /surrounding area and arts community. Experience of working in a visual arts setting. Experience of developing and implementing marketing strategies. Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline. The details: Contract : Permanent, part-time 32 hours per week, 4 days, with a flexible and hybrid approach. Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum pro-rated. Pension: Employee contribution of 5% of salary. Employer contribution of 3% of salary. Holiday: 28 days, pro-rated, plus statutory public holidays.
