Your role and responsibilities IBM is seeking a detail-oriented, analytically skilled Financial and Commercial Operations Analyst to join our team for a significant public sector project. The role involves providing strategic financial analysis and insights to guide decision-making processes, ensuring optimal resource allocation, risk mitigation, and compliance with regulatory standards. Required technical and professional expertise Key Responsibilities: - Participate in the development of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans for the project, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and public sector guidelines. - Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to evaluate project performance, identify trends, and uncover opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement. - Assist in contract negotiations and management, ensuring commercial terms are favorable and compliant with public sector procurement laws. - Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support strategic decisions, project evaluations, and scenario planning. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to financial health and operational efficiency. - Ensure adherence to IBM's policies and procedures, as well as public sector accounting standards and regulations. - Execute periodic audits and provide recommendations to improve financial controls and procedural efficiencies. - Support the preparation of financial reports and presentations for senior leadership and clients. Preferred technical and professional experience - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred. - Experience in financial analysis within a complex organization or consulting environment. - Proven expertise in public sector financial operations and procurement regulations. - Strong knowledge of financial modeling techniques and software tools, such as Microsoft Excel. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills. - Ability to interpret and explain complex financial data and concepts to diverse audiences. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality. - Proficient in project management principles and tools. - Self-starter with excellent organizational and time-management skills. - Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
