Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter with expertise in heavy plant equipment and machinery? We’re looking for Fitters to join our talented Plant Operations Team, where your skills will be essential in maintaining and servicing our plant hire fleet and construction equipment. As an integral part of the team, you’ll ensure that all machinery operates at peak performance, delivering the highest standard of equipment to our customers.
Main responsibilities include:
* Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, providing efficient and effective solutions.
* Ensure all machinery performs at optimal levels.
* Proactively identify potential issues and address them before they escalate.
* Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to both customers and team members.
* Manage multiple tasks in a busy environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
* Maintain accurate records of all work completed, including parts used.
* Collaborate with team members to foster a positive and productive workplace.
* Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations, including safety checks and implementing safe work procedures, escalating concerns to the supervisor/plant operations manager when necessary.
* Uphold the company’s high standards and understand how excellent customer service impacts overall satisfaction.
Are you the right person?
We’d love to see the following skills, qualifications, and experience from our applicants:
* Relevant qualifications or certifications in mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical engineering (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, HND, or equivalent).
* Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems specific to heavy plant machinery.
* Proven experience within the plant industry or a similar field.
* Excellent troubleshooting abilities with a track record of diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues.
* Strong communication skills, capable of explaining technical problems clearly to both technical and non-technical individuals.
* Customer-oriented, with a dedication to delivering high-quality service.
* Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently, showing initiative and strong problem-solving capabilities.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, maintaining attention to detail, and ensuring strict adherence to safety and quality standards.
