Job overview
Lambeth Single Point of Access (SPA) are a team of mental health professionals, support workers and social workers who can help you access one of three Living Well Centres. These offer short and longer term support from our teams of clinicians, social workers, people with lived experience and support workers; or if appropriate, whether a team that can visit you if you require mental health crisis support within 24 hours; as well as other services and community groups who can support you.
We are a part of the Lambeth Alliance, and we have a close interface with a variety of SLaM services, other statutory organisations (inc. social care) and voluntary sector.
The Lambeth Living Well Network (LWN) Alliance brings together Certitude, Lambeth Clinical Commissioning Group, Lambeth Council, South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and Thames Reach organisations to deliver an innovative way of providing mental health support for those who need it in the Lambeth Borough; a fully integrated and coordinated mental health system which focuses on people’s strengths and supports their whole health and wellbeing.
As part of our journey to realising a fully integrated system, we have set up 3 Living Well Centres in Lambeth. The SPA is the front door for mental health services in Lambeth.

Main duties of the job
You will be expected to lead and manage the team, work in partnership with the clinical expert and other senior members of the team to provide management responsibility for the delivery of care within an integrated community team, in accordance with trust and Alliance policies and procedures. You will co-ordinate multidisciplinary working, maintaining excellent communication and working relationships with all team members, and other services within the Trust and the Alliance to ensure effective interface and continuity of care between disciplines and services.
The post holder will take a lead in the development of identified areas of professional practice within the service to ensure high levels of clinical excellence and that training and professional development needs are met within the team.
Take responsibility for the provision of regular supervision and appraisal of identified team members, ensuring the delivery of high-quality evidence-based practice, within the overall structure of the team. To manage administrative and operational resources in a cost-effective manner, evaluating the standard of service delivered.
Working as part of the MDT you will ensure a timely, safe, effective and responsive service delivery in line with the LWN Alliance “three big outcomes” for people living in Lambeth who experience mental distress:

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To work with the Operational Lead, Clinical expert and other senior members of the team to provide management responsibility for the delivery of care within an integrated community team, in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.

Person specification
Qualifications/Education
* Registered Nurse (Mental Health/Learning Disability) or other professional registration e.g. Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, or VCSE experience of working in a mental health setting Master's degree or equivalent experience.
* Management Course
* Experience of managing clinical and non-clinical staff practice in a mental health and managing standards service.
* Experience of providing managerial supervision.
* Experience of recruitment and selection of staff.
* Specialist knowledge relevant to the service.
* Experience of working with different client groups and of using a variety of models and approaches to care.
* Experience of managing non-clinical staff and other professionals.
* Experience of staff performance management.
Skills & Abilities
* Skills in developing and changing practice.
* Ability to build and maintain high standards of professional links and communication channels with a variety of personnel and agencies.
* Ability to analyse complex issues/problems, gather relevant information and exercise sound judgement in reaching the most appropriate conclusions.
