SEN Teaching Assistant Buxton SK - 110 Long-Term to Permanent ASAP Start
Long Term Futures is looking for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist school in Buxton. This role offers the opportunity to support children with special educational needs (SEN) in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting students with a range of needs, including verbal and non-verbal autism, within a setting that prioritises holistic support and development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide individualised support to students, both in and out of the classroom.
2. Assist children in understanding and following teacher instructions.
3. Work with individual learners or small groups in the learning support department.
4. Track and record pupil progress to ensure development and well-being.
Key Experience:
1. Previous experience in a teaching assistant or teaching role.
2. Experience working with SEN children, particularly those with ADD, ADHD, and Autism.
3. Strong communication and social skills to effectively support students.
4. A flexible and enthusiastic approach to working with children.
To Be Eligible for This Role, You Must:
1. Have the Right to Work in the UK.
2. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate, registered with the online update service, or be willing to apply for a new DBS.
3. Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years.
