Maintenance Assistant - Grounds and Gardens

To assist with the provision of an efficient and cost-effective grounds and gardens service to all properties owned or leased by the Trust.
Main duties of the job
1. Carry out unsupervised routine grounds maintenance and minor repair works.
2. Undertake other routine unskilled work, including general labouring, washing of fleet vehicles, tidying boiler houses/workshops, and daily emptying of bins around the site.
3. Responsible for ensuring all equipment (e.g. power tools and gardening equipment) is used safely and effectively by self and others, following manufacturer's instructions, and immediately reporting any defects in accordance with local procedures.

Person Specification
Education
* A good standard of general education.
Experience
* Site experience in a similar or large organisation.
* Previous grounds and gardening experience.
* Ability to use a full range of gardening machinery.
