About Us:
We are a dynamic group of four small businesses, two in the events industry and two in the print industry, each with its unique challenges and growth opportunities. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Group Accountant to join our team, providing financial oversight and support across our businesses. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a diverse environment, where you’ll play a key role in shaping our financial processes and contributing to our growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the financial operations of the group, including bookkeeping, payroll, and tax compliance for all four companies.
2. Prepare monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and budgets for each company.
3. Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and payment collections.
4. Conduct financial analysis and prepare reports for senior management, highlighting trends and opportunities.
5. Work closely with external accountants to prepare annual statutory accounts and manage audits.
6. Implement and maintain efficient financial processes and systems, including cost-saving strategies.
7. Provide insights on financial performance and identify areas for improvement within the group.
8. Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, tax changes, and other compliance requirements relevant to both the events and print sectors.
Requirements:
1. Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
2. Experience in a multi-company accounting role, ideally within SMEs or a similar setting.
3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and UK tax regulations.
4. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
5. Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work independently.
6. Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders across different industries.
