Who are we? St Andrew’s Hospice is a registered charity providing specialist palliative care for patients with life-limiting conditions which require complex symptom management, and/or end-of-life care. It is Lanarkshire's specialist hospice and provides multidisciplinary support for patients, their families and carers. The service is provided completely free of charge for the adult population of North and South Lanarkshire and is open to all without distinction of race, gender or creed. What is the role? We are seeking a detail-orientated, proactive Finance Assistant to join our Finance Team. If you have a passion for numbers, excellent organisational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you The main duties include: · Ensure mail is opened and correctly distributed on a daily basis · Input shop income figures into Ledgers · Download, format and post Just Giving Income to Ledgers · Key income batches to Ledgers · Assist in a two-system cash count to ensure monies received by the Hospice are accounted for correctly and banked daily · Control and reconciliation of petty cash · Assist with the processing of Purchase Invoices · Ensure information is distributed to other departments as required in a clear and accurate fashion · Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation · Ensure adherence to Hospice policies · Adhoc finance duties upon request · Flexibility is required to cover periods of leave What we expect of you? You will require to have a minimum of four Nat 5 qualifications or an SVQ Level 2 in a relevant subject or equivalent experience. Previous experience working in a finance role is desirable but not essential. The successful candidate will have proficient IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. This is a busy role therefore the ability to manage multiple deadlines with competing priorities is beneficial. The ability to maintain confidentiality and strong attention to detail are critical to the role. What you can expect from us?
