Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a friendly team, working within the department of Paediatrics. We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our busy team.
The successful candidate will provide efficient, effective, and comprehensive administrative support for ward 21 and PAU.
If you have excellent interpersonal skills, are a good communicator, and have a strong desire to provide administrative support for the department of surgery, then this is the post for you.
Main duties of the job
Duties will include updating patient management systems, answering calls, greeting patients/relatives, preparing notes, and supporting the nursing team with all aspects of ward administration such as record keeping, data entry, filing, and scanning.
You will need to communicate effectively with all staff members and patients and have a high level of attention to detail.
Person specification
Experience
* Demonstrable experience of administrative & clerical systems and processes.
* Fully conversant with information and other IT systems. Experience in Microsoft including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
* Previous ward clerk/reception experience.
* Previous experience of working in an acute hospital environment.
* Ability to deal with difficult/anxious people using tact and diplomacy.
* Excellent organisational skills to manage own workload and assist in running a smooth service.
