Job Details: Job Title: Deputy Programme Manager – Obsolescence Management (Design & Build Projects) Job Description Cubic are recruiting for a DPM to support the Snr Programme Leadership during a period of rapid growth and change. The position will have a high degree of autonomy and will work with both Programme and Project Managers and the Regional General Manager to ensure the continued successful delivery of the existing business portfolio. Reports to: Programme Manager Job Purpose: The Deputy Programme Manager will support the successful delivery of multiple parallel design and build projects that address obsolescence management within a complex technical service delivery programme. The role requires strong project and stakeholder management skills to ensure timely and cost-effective solutions to obsolescence challenges to maintain operational capability and compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Assist the Programme Manager in the planning, execution, and delivery of obsolescence management projects within the design and build domain. Coordinate multiple parallel projects, ensuring alignment with programme objectives, budget constraints, and timelines. Engage with cross-functional teams, including engineering, supply chain, procurement, and manufacturing, to develop obsolescence mitigation strategies. Identify risks and implement mitigation plans to address obsolescence challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Support stakeholder communication and engagement, providing regular updates on project progress, risks, and opportunities. Maintain compliance with relevant industry regulations, quality standards, and best practices in obsolescence management. Manage project resources effectively, including financial budgets and personnel allocation. Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and continuous improvement. Support procurement activities by working with suppliers to source alternative components and solutions for obsolete systems. Contribute to the development and refinement of obsolescence management policies, frameworks, and strategies. Lead or participate in technical and programme reviews, ensuring documentation and reporting requirements are met. Essential Requirements: Proven experience in programme or project management within an engineering, manufacturing, or defence environment. Strong understanding of obsolescence management principles and lifecycle management. Ability to manage multiple design and build projects simultaneously. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging internal and external partners. Strong problem-solving and risk management capabilities. Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, PRINCE2, PMP, MS Project). Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and resource planning. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines. Desirable Requirements: Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline. Experience within defence, aerospace, or highly regulated industries. Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements for obsolescence management. Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., APM, PMI, INCOSE).
