About the Role:
We are seeking committed and enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistants to work with secondary-aged students. You will provide vital support to students with a primary barrier to learning related to SEMH, helping them thrive in a nurturing, trauma-informed environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Build positive and supportive relationships with students to foster their confidence and engagement.
Assist in delivering a tailored curriculum that meets the unique needs of learners while adhering to independent school standards.
Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including counsellors, SEND coordinators, and external agencies.
Support students in developing emotional regulation, social skills, and resilience.
Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
What We’re Looking For:
Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEMH needs, is highly desirable.
Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
A proactive and flexible approach to meeting students' individual needs.
Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or similar are an advantage but not essential.
The ability to manage challenging behaviours constructively.
