Role Overview – Manual Machinist
Our leading aerospace and motorsport client in Tewkesbury is looking for a Manual Machinist to join their team. As a Skilled Machinist, you'll be working on a rotating 2-week AM/PM shift schedule, handling both manual and CNC machining processes.
Key Responsibilities – Manual Machinist
Machining Operations : Set up, operate, and maintain various machines, including mills, lathes, grinders, EDMs, and honing machines.
Process Setup : Prepare and carry out setups for product processing through machining.
Design Input : Contribute to the design of fixtures, programs, and tools for machining.
Training : Mentor operators on machine operation and inspection standards.
Quality Assurance : Perform self-inspections and quality audits to uphold standards.
Lean Principles : Apply lean manufacturing principles to improve processes.
Maintenance : Conduct basic preventative maintenance on machinery.
Key Experience & Qualifications – Manual Machinist
A recognized apprenticeship in machining or a related field.
Experience in a tool room or engineering/manufacturing setting.
Ability to work independently and in a team, with a proactive approach to quality and continuous improvement.
Flexibility with shift patterns and familiarity with lean manufacturing tools (e.g., 5S).
