Job summary The Trust is seeking a Speciality Doctor to work with the MHL Service. This is a newly created post.This post will provide support and clinical assistance to the Consultant Psychiatrist concerning the care of patients. It is a great opportunity to gain a great deal of experience and knowledge working within an established multi-disciplinary team. Working with a team who believe in collaborative work and have the patient at the centre of their practise. Salisbury has a weekly Academic programme. In addition, there is a monthly PDP group and Peer Supervision. CPD activities are supported. The post offers study leave arrangements as well as good research, service development and leadership opportunities. Main duties of the job To assess and treat service users in MHLS SFT o Undertake urgent and crisis psychiatric assessments when necessary o To liaise with A&E, Medical wards/Specialist regarding a service users medical monitoring results o To liaise with other parts of AWP services, GPs and non NHS organisations wherever applicable o To provide advice and consultation to members of the multi-disciplinary teams and regularly attend MDT meetings o Ensure effective and timely documentation and communication of clinical decision making and management plans o The Specialty Doctor will support the Consultant Psychiatrists in complex case management. o The post holder is expected to seek Section 12 approval, but this is not a requirement of the post About us We are AWP (Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust) a diverse organisation with over 5,000 dedicated staff providing inpatient and community-based mental health care. Desirable Section 12 Approval Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists Eligibility Essential Eligible for Full GMC registration with a licence to practise at time of confirmation of appointment.
