Job summary We are looking for an experienced Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Coordinator to provide support to our Oncology team, ensuring a high-quality administrative support service. The individual will be responsible for providing high quality administrative and project support services to the Division with the responsibility for the faciltiation and co-oordination of MDT team meetings. They will lead on the analysis of the team performance information and work alongside Pathway Administrators in managing an effective patient pathway for cancer patients from referral through to diagnosis and treatment, ensuring the delivery of Cancer Waiting Times targets and up to date tracking via the Lung Patient Tracking List (PTL). Previous MDT/coordination experience, good verbal and written communication skills and experience of working in a healthcare setting is essential. We are looking for enthusiastic, bright, hardworking, and self-motivated individuals who enjoy working in a busy and multi-disciplinary team environment Main duties of the job The Lung MDT Coordinator is responsible for the following functions: To work closely with the Patient Pathway Teams (including, but not limited to Respiratory and Oncology) to support an effective and efficient patient pathway for all Lung Cancer patients. Under the supervision of the Data & Performance Manager, take responsibility for validating the Cancer Waiting Times target data. To keep up to date with National Waiting Times targets for the collection of the National cancer minimum data set. Ensure that an electronic database is maintained for cancer data for patients discussed at the MDT meetings. Be responsible for preparing and running MDT meetings, ensuring that all patients with new and recurrent disease are discussed in detail and in an appropriate timeframe. Ensure that cancer patients are effectively tracked through their clinical pathway and are seen within nationally set cancer target waiting times. Ensure that there are processes in place so that MDT decisions for treatment are recorded and followed up in all cases. Ensure that Lung cancer patients have a single point of contact during the course of their treatment. Support the MDT in audits and analysis of cancer data collected. Be proactive in designing and implementing initiatives to improve data quality both within and outside of the Division e.g., own staff and outpatient department staff.
