Our client, a well-established specialist in Energy generation equipment, is currently looking to recruit a Technical Manager who will oversee a range of engineering and commercial aspects crucial to the company's effective running. They are offering a competitive salary of up to £57,000, a generous holiday package totaling 33 days (including bank holidays), and other benefits such as Private Healthcare.
The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical/Electrical background, proven team management experience, will be qualified in Engineering, and will be based within a commutable distance of Salford.
Job Overview
* Lend expertise to all departments to ensure optimised scheduling and maximised production with low operating costs.
* Advise and regularly forecast costs for in-house and externally sourced Operation and Maintenance, refurbishment, and/or modification of customer's equipment.
* Product development, selection proposal, supply, and cost reduction.
* Liaise with potential clients providing the technical resource to facilitate solutions.
* Manage the technical aspects and assist with the negotiation of supply chains.
* Ensure continual, efficient scheduling, execution, and recording of equipment maintenance.
* Actively identify engineering challenges and submit proposals for upgrades/downgrades.
* Provide detailed failure evaluation reporting.
* Ensure tests and work procedures are properly understood, carried out, and evaluated, and that product modifications are investigated if necessary.
* Ensure that engineering/product suppliers are audited to improve their quality of service.
* Ensure levels of stock are adequate and controlled for the needs of the business.
Job Requirements
* Strong knowledge and experience of mechanical/electrical plant operation and maintenance.
* Proficient in work scheduling, operation, and maintenance of plant and equipment.
* Qualified in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
* Proven supervision and management experience.
* Expertise in managing and negotiating technical supply contracts with suppliers.
* Experience of operating and maintaining a wide range of equipment and generators.
* Experience with solar and energy storage facilities.
* Full UK Driving licence.
* Based within a commutable distance of Salford.
