Job Overview
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team and ensure the smooth operation of our facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
Based in St Helen Auckland, Durham Box Company Limited is one of the leading suppliers and manufacturers of corrugated cardboard packaging in the UK. Having grown from strength to strength since 1989, we have a solid reputation for delivering excellent service and innovative corrugated packaging solutions.
Due to the growth of the Company, an opportunity has arisen to join our maintenance team.
Responsibilities
1. Promoting the department’s Health & Safety agenda.
2. Servicing and maintaining equipment including motors, conveyor and transmission systems, and all production-related equipment.
3. Support where necessary with the installation of new equipment.
4. Inspecting and assessing the functionality of production machinery.
5. Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns.
6. Adjusting mechanical parts using hand and machine tools.
7. Perform routine maintenance and safety checks and inspections as necessary within the department.
8. Producing and submitting maintenance reports.
9. Work professionally and pro-actively with all other departments to deliver departmental and company objectives.
10. Designing and fabricating parts for repairs and machine upgrades.
11. Communicating and working with the production team and maintaining a clean work area.
12. Assisting with training and mentoring apprentices.
13. Facilities maintenance.

6. Previous work experience as an industrial maintenance technician or equivalent role.
7. In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical and PLC systems maintenance.
8. Knowledge of FIIX CMMS system or equivalent would be an advantage.
9. Familiarity with BRC standards and regulations would be an advantage.
10. Excellent troubleshooting skills.
11. Basic computer and report writing skills.
12. Good communication skills.
13. Ability to lift and manipulate heavy equipment.
14. A self-starter with high energy.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
