Are you seeking an opportunity where you can make a difference? Are you passionate about supporting local people build their resilience and helping communities to grow?
Hull CVS is a registered charity that supports the development and sustainability of local charities and causes, as well as leading on volunteering development for the city and delivering a range of projects to support local residents and communities.
Our Sector Development team provides direct support to help local causes to start up, and to improve their ongoing effectiveness and sustainability. We provide a range of services to hundreds of volunteers, charities and community organisations who dedicate their lives to making a difference to local communities across Hull and surrounding areas.
We are excited to have secured UK Share Prosperity Funding to deliver a new Hull Community Centre Support Service over the next two years, aimed primarily at helping the 14 Hull City Council owned Community Centres maximise their potential and meet the needs of local residents.
Leading this project you will assess the requirements of Community Centres in Hull and offer directly or facilitate access to services to help build their capacity and ability to deliver for their community. This will include supporting Community Centre Management Committees with policies and procedures; developing a Community Centre Network; organising volunteer roadshows and other community events; enhancing centre communications; supporting the delivery of a centre specific grants programme; organising training for management committees; and reporting on key outcomes from the project.
You will have strong interpersonal and communications skills and be able to think creatively. You should have a flexible approach within the team and you will be required to manage a diverse workload. Having a background in the charity/not for profit sector is helpful but not essential, as long as you are prepared to undertake training and learning to develop in the role.
