We are seeking a Senior Project Officer - Business Development to play a pivotal role in delivering impactful employment support projects across Sheffield. This role is crucial in generating employment and workforce development opportunities through strategic engagement with both existing and new employer contacts, providing a comprehensive work and skills consultancy service. Day-to-day of the role: Keep updated on local labour market news and trends to identify new employment opportunities and workforce skills gaps. Maintain and develop strong relationships with employers, focusing on employment and skills enhancement. Attend regular networking events for employers and external partners to generate business leads. Promote and support employers in adopting inclusive and alternative recruitment processes that lead to meaningful employment opportunities. Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to build relationships and enhance service delivery. Support the continuous improvement of employment projects by providing updates and insights to senior colleagues. Plan and organise your workload effectively and efficiently, ensuring maximum efficiency in service delivery. Alongside the Strategic Support Coordinator, innovate and respond to employer needs related to workforce development or recruitment. Identify potential risks and opportunities within the service, initiating solutions and providing strategic advice and support. Take responsibility for the development of systems and processes across the Employment Programmes, keeping the Employment and Skills service informed through regular reports and presentations. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven knowledge and understanding of externally funded programmes and business relationship management. Demonstrable track record of generating impactful employer/business relationships. Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage a diverse workload. Excellent communication and networking skills, capable of building and maintaining effective partnerships. Innovative and forward-thinking approach, with a focus on continuous improvement and strategic problem-solving.
