Role Overview
Maintain Drains is seeking an experienced Drainage Engineer to join our expanding team, working across Dorset and the surrounding regions. This is a field-based role where you will be responsible for managing drainage issues across various client sites. The role involves providing both emergency and contracted drainage services to domestic and commercial customers.
As a Drainage Engineer, you will carry out drain unblocking, maintenance, repairs, and investigations to ensure effective solutions for our customers. The position requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality standards. You will work closely with the engineering team and operations staff to complete jobs efficiently and professionally.
You will also be part of an on-call rota to help service our clients 24/7, 365 days a year. This typically involves one week in four, subject to business needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out drain unblocking, repairs, maintenance, and CCTV drain surveys.
2. Diagnose and resolve drainage issues efficiently for residential and commercial clients.
3. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including the proper use of equipment and PPE.
4. Maintain company vehicles and equipment in good working order.
5. Communicate effectively with clients and team members to ensure a high level of service.
6. Keep accurate records of work completed and report any issues to the Operations Manager.
What We’re Looking For
1. Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a drainage engineer, including high-pressure water jetting, CCTV surveys, and pipe repairs.
2. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
3. A positive, flexible, and can-do attitude.
4. Good understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to the drainage industry.
5. Full UK driving licence.
6. Relevant industry certifications (e.g., High-Pressure Water Jetting, Confined Space Training) are an advantage.
7. Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
