Description We have an exciting opportunity for a Lockout Tagout (LOTO) Officer to join our growing business in Stanford-Le-Hope. The LOTO Officer will be directly responsible for executing LOTO procedures to ensure the safe de-energisation of equipment during maintenance and servicing activities. You will play a key role in ensuring that all equipment is safely locked out and tagged out before maintenance work begins, preventing accidents and injuries related to hazardous energy. How you will contribute Take the lead in physically implementing Lockout/Tagout procedures on all equipment and machinery requiring maintenance. This includes ensuring that energy sources are isolated, locked, and tagged appropriately before work begins, in compliance with safety standards and regulations. Ensure that all LOTO procedures are followed meticulously according to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Identify and address any potential hazards before work starts, ensuring the work area is safe for maintenance personnel. Use compliance, contractor management, and permit systems to track and document all LOTO activities. Ensure that data is accurately recorded for reporting, auditing, and compliance purposes. Update and maintain records in real-time to reflect the status of LOTO activities. Support the identification of hazardous energy sources during maintenance activities. Work with other teams to evaluate the energy control procedures and ensure the safest possible methods are used for isolation and de-energisation. Regularly check that the required LOTO equipment (locks, tags, isolation devices) are readily available, in good working order, and compliant with safety regulations. Ensure that any shortages or issues with the equipment are addressed promptly. Work closely with maintenance and operational teams to schedule LOTO activities around maintenance work. Ensure that LOTO procedures are integrated into daily maintenance plans and that all team members understand their role in the process. Help perform audits and inspections to ensure the Lockout/Tagout procedures are being followed correctly. Assist in identifying gaps, implementing corrective actions, and improving safety practices within the LOTO process. Keep yourself informed about the latest Lockout/Tagout regulations, safety practices, and industry standards. Apply this knowledge to improve LOTO procedures and enhance safety within the workplace. What you will bring Previous experience with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, safety protocols, or working in a safety-related role. Strong IT skills and experience using compliance, contractor management, and permit management systems to document and track safety activities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Ability to use formulas a vlookups.
