Job Description
Start here. Grow here.
Are you ready to join a team of talented modellers and shape the future of the water industry?
Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Resources team as a Senior Modeller for flood and water quality. You will work from our rapidly growing Croydon or Basingstoke offices, whilst also taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model.
At AECOM, we're at the forefront of innovation, delivering an exceptional portfolio of water programmes and projects through long-term partnerships with key clients. Our current clients in the UK vary from local government, water companies and private developers. We also have large contracts for Middle Eastern clients where you could be working on some of the most ambitious projects in the world.
Here's what you'll do:
* Deliver: Develop and check hydraulic models to assist the design of Flood Alleviation Schemes, deliver Flood Risk Assessments and conduct reservoir flood studies. Undertake and check hydrological assessments and develop water quality models - which could be physico-chemical, biological, bacterial, or chemical - using industry standard software e.g. MIKE, Delft3D, SIMCAT and / or ICM.
* Leadership: Lead and input into tenders ranging from innovative one-off projects to multimillion pound framework contracts. Mentor staff within the team to support their professional development.
* Quality: Keep up to date with developments in legislation and guidelines that may affect our services, and use AECOM's project management systems to deliver high-quality outputs to our clients in line with the agreed programme and budget.
* Collaboration: Build relationships with other employees across technical disciplines and work closely with our clients to help deliver a wide range of fluvial, coastal, surface water or drainage flood risk management projects.
If you're passionate about innovation and turning bold ideas into reality, AECOM welcomes you. Join our team, where we don't just influence infrastructure but also uplift communities and enhance lives.
Come grow with us.
We are a close-knit team of engineers, technicians, hydrologists, hydraulic modellers and project managers. Some of us spend most of our working time in the office, and some regularly work from home. We meet every week to check in, share news and plan work. We work hard to give our team development opportunities, whether that is a secondment to see the client's perspective, an assignment to spend time on site to manage a construction contract or arranging training to allow you to grow.
In joining the team, you will have the opportunity to shape your career. Perhaps you would like to help develop our international offering, drive innovation through technology, or act as a mentoring champion to develop our team? We will make sure you get the opportunities and responsibilities you need to achieve your goals.
At AECOM, you'll thrive in an inclusive and forward-thinking environment where your contributions are valued. And let's not forget about the perks at AECOM. You'll enjoy a range of core and personalised benefits designed to support your future and well-being, customised to fit your lifestyle.
