Our client is looking to appoint a Housing Officer, initially on a temporary basis for approximately 2-3 months with the potential for longer term employment thereafter. This is a full time role and slightly less than full time hours will also be considered. The role can be based in either Inverness or Invergordon with hybrid working offered and a requirement for regular travel to sites across the area.
As part of a small team the successful candidate will assist in the delivery of high quality housing management services and duties include:
Delivering tenancy and estate management services.
Rent arrears management.
Dealing with applications and allocations.
Registering applications on the Housing Register.
Shortlisting applications and recommending allocations for authorisation.
Drawing up tenancy agreements and signing up tenants for a property.
Providing an advice and information service.
Investigating and responding to complaints.
Carrying out regular communal area inspections.
Liaise with various external agencies.
Working with tenants in relation to fuel poverty and making relevant referrals.
Consulting with tenants on policy changes.
Maintain an up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, good practice, policies and procedures
Carrying out viewings.
Working with tenants to improve services.
Updating accurate and confidential records.
Daily use of MS Office systems.
Person specification
Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
Experience of the housing/property sector preferred.
